To take the user port into use for a serial connection:

- Connect to the service port first, and configure the user port

communication settings using the SMODE and SERI commands.

The new user port settings will be taken into use when the

transmitter is reset or powered up. For example:

SMODE STOP

SERI 9600 E 7 1

- Connect to the M12 connector using a serial cable with the proper

wiring. The wiring of the M12 connector is described in Figure 26

on page 65. Note that you also have to provide the operation power

for the barometer (10 ... 35 VDC) via the cable.
